Welcome to Doone Valley. Follow the path.

Enjoy its wild beauty. Climb its rolling hills. Find your way through its dense dark forests. Admire the glittering waters of the river that winds through the valley.

Oh, there are always legends associated with places such as this.

Keep vigilant, you may see a wild pony or a red deer. Look skyward and you might find a red kite, or a peregrine falcon or an uncommon buzzard. You will recognise it by its large hooked beak and its pale face and its glinting amber eyes. It soars and glides effortlessly through the sky on its tall broad wings with its short wide tail.

Please admire the flowers, you will find bluebells and cheery yellow primroses and buttercups, creamy white meadowsweet and blue-lilac forget-me-nots.

But don’t stay too long, you know it’s not a real place?

That’s right, it’s utterly fictional. If you stay too long there is every chance you will get pulled into the story. I wouldn’t risk it if I were you.

The characters are completely lawless. And you might not be able to escape. Once you’re in.
