‘It’s a beautiful home you have.’
‘It was in the middle of nowhere when I built it.’ The Vampyre replied.
‘And when was that?’ Asked the Estate Agent.
‘It was the year 1377. I remember it well. It was the year I created my first progeny. Camilla Karnstein. Perhaps you have heard of her?’
‘No, I can’t say I have.’
‘Shame. For you.”
“Yes, well. It is a grand old building. Will you be including the furniture?’
‘Hmmmmm’
“Is that a Louise XIV armchair?’
‘Yes, I have many.’
‘And are they included?’
‘I suppose.’
‘And you said on the phone you are looking for a quick sale.’
‘Yes, I cannot stay here a moment longer. I can’t stand these terrible people and this monstrous noise. I can no long hear myself think.’
‘Yes, the motorway is quite loud isn’t it. And there’s no central heating, or double glazing. Buildings as large and old as this do require a lot of upkeep. That is bound to put people off. But things always sell for the right price.’
